Product Description
The Broadcom BCM57508 is a single-chip 200GbE Ethernet controller from the NetXtreme-E family, intended for OEM integration onto custom-designed PCIe adapter cards, OCP 3.0 NICs, and SmartNIC boards rather than sale as a finished product. The controller connects to the host over a PCIe Gen4 x16 interface, and its Ethernet MAC/PCS pipeline can be configured as a single 200GbE port or split into multiple lower-speed ports (2x100G, 4x50G, 8x25G/10G) to match a given board design. A programmable TruFlow packet-processing pipeline offloads virtual-switch and overlay-network forwarding from the host CPU, while a hardware RoCEv2 engine delivers RDMA-class latency and throughput for storage and AI/ML fabrics. Broadcom's TruManage stack simplifies driver-level and out-of-band manageability once the chip is integrated onto a board. As bare silicon, the BCM57508 targets hardware design engineers building custom high-speed NICs, top-of-rack SmartNICs, and server LOM designs rather than end users buying a finished adapter.
